Rob Cordell, Mizuho Americas, Head of Legal for Futures & Equity Research

Rob Cordell joined Mizuho in 2010 and is an Executive Director in the Legal Division. Mr. Cordell is Head of Legal for both the Futures Division as well as the Equity Research Department of Mizuho Securities USA LLC. He has a broad background in corporate legal matters, and covered technology, commercial and infrastructure legal needs for Mizuho Securities for many years. Mr. Cordell founded Mizuho Pride, the bank’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group, in 2017 and currently serves as the group’s senior advisor.

Prior to Mizuho, Mr. Cordell worked in the legal departments of Amazon, Barclays and UBS and at the law firms Mayer Brown and Thacher Proffitt.

Mr. Cordell received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was on the Columbia Human Rights Law Review, and holds both a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, cum laude and with honors, from Southern Methodist University.
