Matt MacKenzie, Optiver Head of U.S. Advocacy and Government Relations

Matt has an extensive background in public service, having worked with Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives for 11 years. His career began in the office of Congressman Jim Oberstar, followed by his tenure as Counsel to Congresswoman Chellie Pingree of Maine. He later served for five years as Senior Counsel to the House Agriculture Committee under Chairman Colin Peterson, where he focused on Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issues and served as legal counsel, drafting six of the twelve titles of the 2018 Farm Bill. Following his time on Capitol Hill, Mr. MacKenzie worked in the Government Relations office of CME Group, overseeing regulatory engagement with the CFTC. He established Optiver’s Washington, D.C. office in November of 2023.
