Colin Iles, Managing Director ED&F Man Cotton

Colin joined Hartree Partners in 2025 to establish a cotton trading desk within their wholly owned soft commodities business, ED&F Man.  Prior to embarking on this new venture, he spent the previous 13 years with Viterra (formerly Glencore Agriculture) where he served on the Executive Committee and was directly responsible for their cotton and sugar trading desks including the commercial management of sugar milling and farming in Brazil. Colin began his career at Cargill in the United Kingdom with a focus on building businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa.

He is an alumnus of the London School of Economics, sits on the boards of the International Cotton Association and the American Cotton Shippers Association and has been appointed by ICE to serve on their cross-commodity Risk Advisory Working Group.

Colin resides in The Netherlands with his partner and three children.
