CMC Voices Support For US South Korea FTA
CMC joined with industry counterparts this week to voice support for the Korean Free Trade Agreement that is currently pending before Congress. In a letter that was delivered to lawmakers on Monday, over 30 organizations explained that with "nearly $2 billion in current US farm exports" to Korea becoming "duty-free immediately," the agreement is a "significant achievement." It will provide large dividends for "America's farmers, ranchers and agribusiness for decades."
The letter also calls the agreement the "biggest opportunity" for agriculture since the Uruguay Round and NAFTA. The coalition predicted that failure by the Congress to approve it would be "devastating to U.S. farmers and ranchers."
CMC will continue to work through the AgTrade Coalition for passage of this important trade agreement.
